okay some please tell me about oils.

I have been using Castrol oil in my 4agze, and its a 5w-30 oil,

Just got some new oil (mobile HXP) to change over it.. and I have gotten 15w-40...

what is the difference.. and is this a bad thing???

not a bad thing, actually probly a good thing.. dont worry man.

5w is pretty low.. 15w will be better.

the higher the number the thicker the oil.... basicly

thicker oil is needed in hot places and in older engines with worn rings and seals etc

thinner oil is for newer engines and cold areas... fairly basic but its a start.

Fuck eddie no wonder why you cant keep a motor together.....

GTX3 is what we put in shit heaps at work......

Go penrite HPR40 for turbo cars with a few kms or Penrite SIN 25w 60 for fresher turbo motors

Ryan throw that oil in the bin quick smart.... Go out and buy some penrite and a toyota oil filter

also to add to what chapl said. Say 25w 60 that oil will be 25 weight (cant remember the scale they use to measure it) 60 degrees.

In australia we need something thats abit hotter like the 20w 50 or 25w 60 as we have hotter wether hence the oil is hotter before the motor is running.

Hey, that's not exactly correct ^^^

The first number is cold cranking viscosity and the second is the viscosity at 100 degreesC.... even though the first number is smaller it is still more viscous because they are both measured on different scales (just to make things simple for us :P)...
