i did search!!
well i just want to know how you would convert your engine to coil packs. would you get rid of the dizzy completely and let the packs run off an aftermarket computer? i will be running a haltech computer on my 7age 20v. would you need to seal over the dizzy hole where it connects to the cams?
i have a 20v silver top head aswell.
any help is very much helpful
cheers,
clint :)

Im no auto electrcian but i think you'll need a crank angle sensor of some type, so the ecu knows wats going on.
I think rotory 13b's series 4 me thinks, has adequate ones but dont quote me.
Then you could use 4 hyundai, bosh or haltech or whateva you like.

i believe the dizzy in a 20v has the same internals as a crank sensor and yes you will have to use an am computer or use the 20v dli setup i have seen around.

Option 1:
Keep your distributor base as a CAS, Kaizen sell billet cas covers at a really good price. Its a bit tight around the water hoses for the heater core though.
Option 2:
Block off the dizzy hole and get an aftermarket hall effect crank sensor. You'll need to weld a missing tooth wheel to the crank pully and make a custom bracket for the sensor.
The neatest coils you'll get to fit to a 20V is 1ZZ COP(coil over plug) coils. The coil bolts down the spark tube with a little bit of a light sand and has integrated igniter's. Assuming the haltech has 4 outputs you'll be able to run full sequential ignition and not have to fork out money for custom leads.

im useing microtech with coil 4 packs i use the standard crank angle sensor thats the plug under the dizzy cap used already in wiering of microtech ecu i just took off the dizzy cap and rotor botton and left it, but i plan on capping it, halteck should supply u with a egnitor box and coils witch will plug into your haltec ecu

so the crank angle sensor that is standard on the 20v should be fine?
