View Full Version : How to take out the front struts???

Hey guys does any one know how to take out the front struts as im trying to upgrade the suspension. ive taken off the three bolts at the top and used a set of spring compressors but i still can get them out.

Hey mate you will have to unbolt the two bolts rightunderneath the strut.
You will find the strut sitting on top of the streering arm which is what it is bolted to.

You should be able to lift (note i say lift) it off once those bolts are out, might take a bit of persuaision, but yer should come right off

You will also have to remove the brakes somehow, you can either undo the fluid line or there is two bolts that hold the caliper onto the disc which you can unbolt if you plan on keeping those brakes.

just the answer i was looking for i found the bolts will take it off this afternoon though.

put the bolts back in the top of the strut tower finger tight so it takes the weight so u can get ur control arm and brakes n shit out the way without trying to hold the strut up.
