Hey all need some help
I've gone through the forums a bit and have been searching as to what I should upgrade my front struts too. I figured I had two options either sprinter gear or xt130 corona gear, I choose the corona gear, as I figured it would be easier to find, and still fits sprinter inserts apparently. Any way my problem is my wrecker does not have any xt130 corona here only has rt142 and rt141 (i'm pretty sure those where the model numbers), and I was wondering how do these compare to the xt130 gear, and are the compatible with ke70 front suspension?

They are similar but not the same, i couldn't tell you the exact differences off the top of my head.

The struts you want are XT130 or RT132.

not the ST141 / RT142.

Just go to a different wrecker.

Ok thanks for that, we only have one wrecker locally, looks like i'll be goin for a trip to narrendra or somthing.

Just head on down to Wagga, there are a few wreckers there (from what i saw when i drove through a 2 months ago).

One important difference is that T13 Coronas share an 85mm steering arm bolt spacing with AE86s.

T14 Coronas have 90mm bolt spacing and then you open up all sorts of problems.

Possible, but then there's the question of LCA length / width.

I think they are the same length as xt130.

I'd think so too, but i'm not 100%

The ones i'd be most confident about would be the LCA's from an RT142, as it uses the same crossmember as the RT132.

However i'd still be going with the XT130 / RT132 struts.

i have st141 struts in my car....

but you dont want to go to the trouble i have to fit them!

i want them cause of the caliper mounting, and the fact that nissan 4 pots bolt straight up with no mods!

yeah any information on your troubles would be helpful also i was going , to go steering arms, lca's struts and brakes from what ever i purchased. Wagga is a 2 and a half hour drive which i can't really do atm because i start my hsc tommorrow.

Main issue with 90mm steering arm spacing is that all the matching steering arms are longer than stock ADM AE86 arms, let alone AE86 power steering arms. LCA isn't an issue as balljoints are the same across most Corollas, Coronas and Celicas from the era.

Though if anyone has any short options for 90mm spacing arms I'm all ears.

well. i might get flamed......but i have ae86 power steering arms and RCA on the bottom of my st141 struts.

i 'modified' them with a die grinder to make them fit. its actually not as bad as it sounds. but i wouldn't recommend to others as its not the best.

i have ae86 shock inserts too, they fit ok.

i have xt130 LCA for the track and camber and cusco camber tops also......

it all fits up fine, but i havent driven on it yet

Do you know the different between Rt142 PS arms and normal arms ?

My rt has the shittiest lock i have experianced and im wondering if a manual rack would be better ?

This could possibly be because your RT142 has power steering.

AE86 P/s arms only benifit an AE86 with a Manual Steering rack / arms from the factory.

P/s FTL.

So if i put a manual rack in my rt142 and kept the power steering arms would i get a tiny bit more lock ?

I'd think so, but i wouldn't be 100%, this is a bit of an educated guess.
