PLEASE WRITE ALL TECH ARTICLES IN THE FAQ SECTION FROM NOW ON
:)
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/faq
It is a WIKI style FAQ
Which means that anybody can sign up and edit it...
I will also be needing some volunteers to help move everything from the forum over to the FAQ please. You may score a moderator position on the forum if you help out.
Thanks
Nicko

So do we simply log in to the top right corner of the FAQ page using our DC log in to add topics or edit?

hey this conversion guide is directly copied off Phil bradshores site, has he agreed to that? I mean is that right to do?

Yea noticed as well there is a cut and paste straight off bill sherwoods site too, It has given him the credit for the information though.
Ive added some stuff and changed the layout around to access certain parts of the information easier. some will need to go through and just check that the titles are correct n stuff cause im still just learning wiki's

I have started writing down here additional information for the info from phil bradshore but I havent posted it yet. If he is ok with it being on here and ok with me adding and editing it then I will massively increase it for most sections.
Otherwsie I will if I figure out how post these threads:
- cooling guide
- lock spacers
- intake tuning

Sadly it is a new signup because the FAQ is seperate to the messageboard
Please sign up
Editing is easy. There is a link to the mediawiki guide on there somewhere
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Credit users where information is copied ala Bill Sherwood etc etc
We will take down anything that people think is infringing - but it would be great to have ALL the information here at AE86DC
I am aiming to remove the Mechanical Information Archive when we have copied EVERYTHING over but its going to be a massive job

I mean there is something very different from copying someones work and giving them credit and using it to edit. Phil bradshore has some good info but I have some more specific infomation to add to it but I dont want to go and edit his, it just isnt right. What I may do is write aditional information under in in a seperate paragraph and say "posted by Sam_Q" or something. I am not after credit I just dont want to deface someone elses information

In those situations, you can use a bibliography at the end, or take the part that isn't used, and cite it: (Author. (Date of Publication). Title. Publisher (if applicable). Source (if online reference): URL)
Then follow on with what you want to contribute. You don't have to cite your own information, unless you have specifically used someone else's ideas.
Doing this will save headaches and possible legal problems, which are never good.
Oh and Nick I will sign up when I can and see if I can add anything that hasn't been done. Are we taking the 'good' tech articles, or anything that is there, and essentially cut and pasting them across?
