Hey Guys
I've finally found a new shell to start working on putting all the gear from the defected shell in.
This ones going to be very neat car a ground up build. My aim is to have a car that goes hard handles well but look relatively stock.

Work to be done:

Reskin roof. As this shell has being in a roll over. Roof strut all seem to be straight.
Get all rust dents fixed. I would do this my self but don't have the time. So the panel beater will do that as well.
Clean and repaint Bottom of car. Maybe stitch weld it. I'm not sure yet.
Get the car all prepped and ready for paint.
Painting will be done by my panel beater. Because I want a really sweet paint job seeing the car wont have a showy kit.
Car will be a dark gunmetal with brown tinge.
Put on Kourki Front and rear bar, white lines zenki front lip. Hopefully some Hayashi street RS rims if I can find any.
Put all the running gear from my old car in.

Which is:

Engine:
Duel oil filler cam covers
port polished blue printed big port head
272 cams and stiffer valve springs, adjustable cam gears.( suspect 260, 280 cams)
silver top quads instead
High comp pistons in a 20v bottom end. ( seen to have standard comp but. Need 16 valve pistons not 20v)
high flow oil pump
apex 4 into 1 extractors imported from japan( nice sound)
stainless steel bash plate under engine
gen3 coils
microtech ltx 10.
Custom surge tank bosch pump and decent lift pump as well.
dry cell battery

Suspension:
HTS 102's,
ajps coilovers at the front with 8kg front and 6kg rear springs.
cusco camber tops
Techno toy tuning four links, lateral bar, traction brackets and bump steer spacers.
TRD 2way LSD
standard arms welded for strength
ps arms
strut braces

My old widebody drift styled car

The new shell. Nice scenic shoots. Thanks for the shell too Andy. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

The first car in this pic is pretty close to the styling and color I'm going for. Pict 2 has had the wheels changed to challengers

wasn't really much of a rollover... didn't actually go all the way over, just stopped and tipped onto the roof.

john if you manage to make it look like that car in the pic, i'll want it back!!

Very nice, all so one of my inspiration pics. I wouldn't want my car apart from the body paint to be that glossy though.

Update:
Underbody of car is clean and nearly ready for paint. I've gone for a basic 2pak grey for under the car. Finished repairing on of the rails that run under the rear seat foot wells. Knocked the underside of the car allot straighter in general. Over all it wasn't that bad under there though.

All other repairs to the body were done as-well by my panel beater.

I've also picked a color of the rest of the car. Its called dark kaki metallic it comes from the chrysler Jeep range

Bumpers will be black probably.

I haven't decided on wheels yet. I'll probably go with some of Dave's challengers.

Bough some old school mesh head rest recaro's the otherday aswell.

Well finally finished cleaning up the underside of the shell. Took about 3 weeks to do. Probably 5 days to a week of actual solid work to beat, strip, sand ect ect.
Painted in a very light 2pak grey from protec, got there top quality 2pak as well so it should last a while. Its very difficult to paint with all the curves so there are a few runs, over all I'm happy with how it turned out though.

japlish
3rd February 2008, 10:03 PM
Its not actually grey its dark Karki metallic which is a Jeep color sort of a brownie green dark gray.
Hopefully i get the body painted quicker than the under side. Was bloody fiddley and time consuming to do it properly.

If you mean the stuff sprayed in the arches, which has a pinky orange color. No I didn't strip it. Was in good enough nick to leave

About half of the paint under the car was stripped off as I searched for surface rust though. Some areas look pristine then you look closely and see a pin prick sized light brown dot. Some times I would strip the paint off and there would be very little surface rust. Say about the size of your finger nail. Other times it would continue and end up being a half foot squared area of rust. Only very light surface rust mind you. You really can't even tell its there with out being very thorough.

I want the look of the car to be fairly stock so most of the interior will be in. To set the car apart I want the nice paint job. Kourki front bar zenki lip, kourki rear bar
and some old school rims that fill standard guards fully in 15's.

Recaro LX I think. In Japan they're common as apeshit in the jungle, as they were in the aforementioned mitsus, plus some xA70 Supras and lots of Surfs. Commonly 10,000yen and up each on yahoo, pairs starting around 20,000.

I think that trim is surf or supra.

I'm not really sure what there out of as I bought them off a friend of a friend. I can tell you that the rails on them were to suite something with much wider set mounting points.
I've look on the recaro web site and I think these are called P1's.

Yes the rest of the body styling will be period correct.
Next to go back on is the Kouki front bar with some of the louvers cut out and painted black. Eventually a front lip will be put on. Thats about it I don't think I will even run oem side skirts.
