ok, i was having this disscussion/dissagreement with Chapl in the wrong section.

so just to clear it up and maybe educate a few people and maybe myself, is sprinter a hatch or a coupe?

lets try to discuss this with out turning it into a shit-fight please.

you may begin your argument/opinion now :2thumbs:

um definately both. as said earlier there are hatch (liftback) and a coupe (notchback) models. all adm ae86's are hatches

Yeah, ADM 86s are better classed as hatchbacks (because they are :P ), yet it can also be classed as a coupe, being a 2-door (as my rego states)

My view is the traditional (ADM stylez) AE86 is a hatchback coupe, whereas the notchback is purely a coupe.

Yes, thats right. I went for both for the traditional one. As I see it, it is a hatchback (because of the hatch, like similar Corollas of the day), but because it has only 2 doors it is also a coupe. It fills the criteria for both, so thats why I class it as that. The coupe has a normal boot setup, so its just a coupe.

like drift spec said

in Australia they are classified as a coupe

but we on here deal in ADM and JDM so its easier just to follow the following

ADM = Hatch

JDM = Hatch and coupe (boot back)

this is the most commonly worded description of what we deal with

As Gilly has said, they were only sold in Australia as a 3-Door Hatch.

They were sold in other markets (USA, Japan) as both a 3-Door Hatch and a 2-Door Coupe (Notchback / Bootback)

So there you go.

Javal.

i think everybody knows there are coupes and hatches, but what i was specifically talking adout was the adm shape (trueno or levin).

despite what the aus rego papers say, to my reconing a coupe is a two door sedan, boot and rear window seperate, and a hatch, boot and window in one.

As with the GT-S model. Pop ups as well. Except it bares the 4AG factory.
The SR-5 has the 4AC.
