Hey guys how's it going....
I have my 4agte sprinter and its time to upgrade the turbo, currently running a high flowed t25 unit. But wanting more power.... what are some good turbos that ppl know of... was maybe thinking a t28 high flowed turbo but still wanting to have a bigger turbo under the bonnet....
heard of someone using a subaru turbo of an sti and also the td04 and td06.....
But if anyone has any ideas please post... need some help with a decision that is to be made within the next two weeks
Cheers guys

BB T28
or something similar spec. some guys on NS.com offer same spec turbs with warranty etc
i don't see why you would need to go "bigger" than that

the cheapest option would be to get a low KM t28 of a S15 nissan would be ur best bet
with minimal mods ie decent cooler, and dumpy + 3" u should be able to make around 170-80 rwkw's on the 17psi mark
forgies are probably a good idea 2 :D
i've heard of ppl using highflow t04's o3' etc and sti turbs, but i would be happy with the power figure of a t28 and so would my wallet :) not having to change manifolds
thats my 2 cents

As usual, Gilly is right :P GT28 BB range are good for up to 550HP, which is more than your 4agte is likely to be able to handle.
Subaru items are far too often over rated....

bullshit....nowhere near 550hp.....its a 350hp turbo at best
kieran runs a subaru turbo (t04?) on his car from memory and it's laid down rather good figures more than once....its not all about figures its also how the car drives....kierans car is pretty responsive but holds thru til redline which is wat u want on a street car

when i ran my 4agte, i bought a Garrett GT28RS which i found to be an awesome turbo for the 4a.
came on boost quickly and held till redline easily.
on 14psi it made 170rwkw.
had 264 degree cams, 3" exhaust, decent cooler, haltech e6x running the show...
you can get some good deals on ns.com
there is also the GT2535 which has the same compressor cover as an s15 t28!!!
good luck

If you head over to Toymods there is heaps of information on this subject.
I believe Josh young used to use a 2510 on his and reports say the response was insane.
I am using a T28BB but am yet to drive it  So very close though.....

in my opinion 2510 is the ultimate turbo choice on a 4age.....but they arent cheap and 99% of ae86/ke70 owners are tightarses and not willing to pay good money for a turbo

the turbo ur thinking of is the GT28R which is the same turbo as on the JDM s15 t28.....the gt2535 is bigger than a JDM s15 t28

I think you'll find you're wrong on this one lazy... there are SR20's on mainland making 500rwhp with this exact turbo... http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...6R_705330_1.htm (http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2876R_705330_1.htm) and it is what im running but with a custom compressor housing so i will be capable of more, full boost by 3000rpm and holds to redline. I did months of researching and found that for my application (wanting early spool and high HP) this was the optimum turbo on my 3s. Theres a couple on here (i think) being used on 4agte's and they are definately the way to go.

i call bullshit on any 500rwhp dyno sheets for a 2876R. even on 30psi you'd be damn well pushing it.
400rwhp is more achieveable, but still very very high for that turbo
prove me wrong please :)
edit- this is toxin

the only cool thing about left hand drive is the ability to run long straight velocity stacks
on topic
T28BB, i can't comment on out right power figures, needless to say you won't need any where near, nor would you want the power figures being claimed!!!

yeh gt28 will never put out 500rhp or even 400 will be pushing it on an sr20.

as do i....
my calculations tell me that 500rwhp would be 370rwkw.....from a SR20 that is a remarkable feat.....few mates with GT30's on built SR20's that dnt even make close to that

any 28 series turbo is great on a 4a, even t3/4s work well with cams, and just to smooth over myths of subaru turbos(not standard ones like tdo's)
a vf series turbo for example a 34, 22, 43, will have very poor efficiency untill ur above 16psi. if u were to use a vf, i'd suggest a vf43 of the 06 2.5 sti.
i fitted one to a 2l this year, and had 15psi at 3500rpm, and kept makin power all the way thru made for a very quik streetcar. but on a 16v id suggest a bb28, not an rs or similar.
and as for sr's 250kw, from a gt30 on 20psi, that is it, not 550hp
