5th May 2010, 05:37 PM
Got some measuring to do, then i'll draw it up on paper then a mate is going to draw it up in auto CAD , then just take the file to get them CNC'd... Hmm mayb cal can hook em up 

6th May 2010, 04:57 PM
It's just going to be a flat bracket, won't look like a dogs bone.
All it will need is the semi radius around the housing then just the general outer shap with 2 ears and 2 holes in each, hard to do something like that cal?

Stickin with the Ksev, heaps of displays out their and you can walk into every pit garage and check out the cars.
got a stack of ideas!
getting a new intercooler and pipe work made up so then ill be happy with the front end
then fixing up the steering colum alignment and then i can continue.

i started measuring up for the rear caliper brackets the other night, so that ball is rolling...

26th May 2010, 11:42 AM
finally an update!

Finished off the front guards today, trimmed them back to allow for the extra caster and the 10' wheel
welded a tab on the rear bottom of the guard - guard now hangs out 25mm from the door line at the rear of the guard, makes the flair poke out even more and make it looks a tough.

Also gutted the whole front suspension, got the LCA's out and began measuring and cutting to make them Rose jointed adjustable, using the T3weld on LCA kit, arms will now be adjustable from - 6mm up to and past + 30mm with no problem

had them all tacked up untill i stuffed my last welding tip.. so gonna grab some spares today and keep going.

Im also thinking about cutting off the arch's and raising them so i can get the thing a bit lower - atm their is a fair bit of room underneath.

This rain is great! gives me time off work to actually do something fun.

TO do's:

Finish rear inner guards
fit rear swaybar (bar only)
mate ae86 and ke70 pedal box's
Buy intercooler and make pipe work
braided brake and fuel lines.
fit hydro e brake and wilwood bias valve
fuel pump ( bosch 044)
Battery... + power up pump and ecu.
re fit lights.

ok thats enough.. i hate thinking about that stuff... just keep moving i say

ill get some pics up later on

to use R33 gear, you can buy an adapter - they use them on nissans to go up to 296mm rotors in the S series and R32's - so all you would need is a pair of adapters then bolt your stuff up.
as for 5 stud, their are no decent wheels IMO - and then you would have to convert the rear to 5 stud, to much mucking around with no advantage.

hi mate just been going through your thread again, with this brake upgrade you went 4 stud, im def going 5 stud and just wanted to know what hubs i would have to use to go 5 stud as i think you used the st141 hubs yeah?

and have searched endlessly to find these adapters you speak of and cant find anything, i would be extreemly appreciative if you could pass me on to someone who knows where to get them

sundee
29th May 2010, 03:11 PM
if u want 5 stud youll have to use S13 gear, i used the entire St141 strut because im not a fan of the S13 setup. As for adapter their made for nissans so check NS or something, i stumbled accross them on ebay, they come up every now and then, search ebay usa. they are their 100%

THis one allows you to run a 325mm rotor!

sundee
8th June 2010, 11:12 PM
whatevea mat, same chasis same difference, i would have to buy a new intercooler and fab up all new pipe work to get the engine into the 70, now it will all bolt into where its meant to go.
im going to sell off most of the stuff i dont need, the car comes with heaps of spares, Haltech ecu and new flying loom, T50,
Only thing i need is a bonnet.
anyone feel like lending a hand to get the thing home? its not a roller so i have to take a diff and struts to throw in... or get some guns to lift it on a trailer.... any takers?

rhys2229
9th June 2010, 08:51 PM
i got some e7 struts if you need them to roll it? wheres it at
?

sundee
9th June 2010, 09:16 PM
croyden park - ive got struts, ill just pull them out of my 70, and i guess im gonna have to slug the F diff over a put it in to.
anyone got a car trailer i can scam for a few hrs?

sotiros86
9th June 2010, 11:40 PM
just hire a car trailor from a servo like BP. I paid $99 for a 12 hour hire about 6 months ago. Just take like 5 mates with you and just lift the bastard onto the trailor rather than stuffing around getting it rolling. Without the engine and driveline in it, the shell weighs nothing.

sundee
10th June 2010, 02:53 PM
yeah yeah been their done all that before, including hiring trailers... hachi shells are light, easily lift the front up with one hand empty.
its just alot more managable if its rolling.

Hey man,
i love your build. I'd like to put 15x9 0 offset on the back of my ke70 with 205/50R15. My main reason for doing this would be to maximise grip, since i'm doing a 1uzfe swap. I see you have a similar setup there. Just wanted to know how much space and suspension travel you have in the back. I'd like to copy your setup and maybe shorten my diff alittle more so that i can squeeze the wheels inwards under there. please advise...

sundee
5th February 2014, 10:22 PM
Heaps of room man, suspension doesn't travel upward much with 6kg springs and TRD blue shocks.

Ideally you would do the front on rear conversion to get the most out of the rear guards..

Mine were just original metal flaired to the absolute limits by hand with hammer and dolly.

I wouldn't worry about shortening the diff below standard track.
Not worth it unless your going to tub it... But with 9" and zero offset your sweet

Awesome! ... Did you finish the car? Any recent pics?
