Will a 4a (SOHC) out of a AE82, bolt into a AE86 using some of the gear i already have (manifolds etc..).

Are the engines the same? Am I right guessing it's almost a straight swap??????

are you serious?

yeah the 4ac out of a ae82 is the same 4ac out of an adm ae86 just different exhaust manifold.

dont bother putting a 4ac into an ae86. just buy a 4ag theyre cheap enough

This is just my daily 86. Iam saving up my cash for something a more serious than a 4AG, so thats why iam not chasing one. UNLESS someone has a full motor for $200..... lol lol lol lol.....

- head gasket kit $90 + my time to fit it

- good working 4A whole motor - $100 - minimal time to fit......

That why i was asking....

fair enough. doing it the right way. save money for what you want instead of just buying whatever and upgrading constantly because youre not happy.

good call (y)

The water pump and a few coolant fittings will be different.

but i can use the waterpump and pipes off the current engine, right?

And i would have the ae82 water system stuff spare for a 4AGE RWD conversion ........ :)

yeah you can. youre just wanting the block and head to drop into your already 4ac ae86. unless of course other RWD componants are broken

yeah, your radiator won't be long for this earth if you attach the your viscous fan to the FWD water pump.
the bush in the pump it's large enough to take the weight and will let go
