what is a 4age 86 worth these days
i know body n paint has to be taken into consideration
but what is the minimum you would expect to pay for one that was untidy but registerable?

may have found one but just unsure if it's good value or not

this time last year it was 4000+ for a 4age adm. SON57A is right with 5000+ for one now.

the price is forever going to go up from here. 25+ yrs is when old cars start being worth something. 30+ yrs is when theyre worth insane amounts

my suggestion is buy one as soon as possible before the price gets so high youll never be able to afford one like old monaros

id say worth it.

i have been looknig into this old blokes completely original stock sprinter who i just saw randomly parked on a street one day and its in immaculate condition inside and out with no rust and im trying to get him to sell it to me for 4 grand and i am more than happy to pay that because like it was said before, finding a clean unmolested sprinter these days is becoming a chore.

To import a GTV or GT-Apex and pay shipping and all that I think it may come to $9000 or $13,000. Not sure.

To buy a fairly stock GTV or Apex here in Australia with basic bolt ons maybe $7000.

A stock ADM one with 4A-C, between $500 - $3000 depending on rego and tyres and paint. I would expect $2000.

A ADM one with a shitty 4A-G conversion, cut springs, poor shocks $2000 - $3000

A ADM one with a neat 4A-G conversion, matched sports springs and shocks, LSD, race seat, nice wheels, new paint. $5000 - $10,000

A race car setup for a certain race series with spare parts, maybe $25,000 even tho it may not look as good.

Just a guess...

To buy a ADM one and buy every bit for it, and modify according to these forums... maybe $13,000.

I am not too concerned about AE86 prices going up. There is a limit, due to the fact you can get many parts brand new still. The car can only be the sum of the parts. And second hand bits are still plentiful. Plus I don't expect AE86 prices to go higher than S13 Silvia prices, since the S13 is a better car. When my AE86 has cost more than a race S13, someone come and hit me on the head please. The idea of having the AE86 is being the cheap underdog corolla.

But, if you have a spare shell that is crashed, do not crush it. Please don't crush any AE86s. Just drill through all the spot welds and sell the pannels.
