stock 4k and manual box will probably cost you like $100 thus shaving 1/10th of your meager budget.

anything good will cost you at least half to 3/4 yor budget and thats just a bigger K series motor. you don't want to install anything that uses a hydraulic box as you'll lose 20% of your budget getting a pedal box and associated bits to make it work.

i'd look on rollaclub for a bigger K engine

Man im doing a 4ac conversion and its costed me almost 800 so far and still got a few more things to buy
and i got my ae-ke conversion package cheap...

get a 5k and be done with it

could always ghetto it up, but i know down here its cheaper than the a-series shit!

t motor - slab of beer-$200
ta22/t18 t50 - slab of beer-$100
clutch master - $170 new
slave - ? fark knows
ta22 engine mounts and t18 mounts - $50-$100 i guess
tailshaft - slab-$100 i guess
add a 32/36 weber - $100+
extractors - $100+

and you'd have a decent setup with more torque than a 4ac and more power than a 4k and probably 4ac depending on the condition of the 3t

also if your going to bother farking around with a 4k, dont get second hand information just read this:
