I have my 4ac in my ke70 now and its up and running.
But the alternator is currently not working, due to a regulator issue.
i am aware ke70 have bosch alternators and they have inbuilt regulators.
4ac jap alternators have external.

What are my options?

A. Try to mount ke70 bosch alternator to 4ac block, and use original loom <<<<<<< is this possible??

B. go to wrecker and get a regulator off an ae71, then take it to an auto electrician and fork out $$

What have others done when putting a 4a into a ke70?

PLEASE HELP
sick of charging my battery twice a day!

thanks

find a internal regulated alternator with plug that'll fit the 4A-c mount(shouldn't be hard) and wire it up, it's not worth the effort wiring in a whole external reg unit unless you can get hold of an old ae71 loom to graph into it.

if you are using a 4ac just use the KE alternator

both are carb engines

if it was a 4AGE you would need a high putput unit for ECU etc but if its just a carb 4A i wouldn't be stressing over using the KE unit

will the KE alternator mount tho? or will it need to be modded to fit?

cheers

shouldn't be too hard to get it on there

i don't know if they are the same bolt spacing etc. use the 4ac mounts and the ke alternator

like it was mentioned above its a lot of wiring work to get a a 4AC external reg etc in there

all done. the ke alternator DOES fit with a few spacers on the bottom rear leg and one or two on the top mount
saved me so much time and money
