hey guys i just got sigma lca's and was after ra40 tierods and rack ends so it'l fit in but all they had was a ra60 which i had a look at and after a bit of researching i read in an old thread that the rack ends were longer than ra40. is this correct?
can i just use the tie rod ends or do i need to also use the rack ends?
basically the wreckers will only sell me the whole rack so i'l put in the rack ends and tie rods which will be even longer than ra40. is this a good idea or will it be too long now? any help would be great as i wanna buy it tomorrow.

I'm not sure I follow you completely.
However to fit Sigma LCAs you can use AE86 rack ends, RA40 tie rod tubes and RA40 tie rod ends. You keep the AE86 (or KE70 by the looks of it) rack.
RA60 rack ends are about 20mm longer overall than AE86 rack ends. So you *may* be able to use RA60 rack ends and normal AE86 tie rods. I've never tried.
Also I'd be hesitant to use rack ends or tie rods from a wrecker. You can get them around $25-30 each from Repco/Bursons so they're worth replacing.

You need to get the RA40 tie rod tubes from a wrecker. They aren't a consumable part, so you can't get them aftermarket.
You can get the tie rod end from whichever supplier you like.
Bolt together.

called the wreckers to see if they have any ra40 tie rod tubes but they said they don't even know what part that is. is there a different name for it as i have never heard anything in the steering rack being called that either. or is it just the part that the rack end screws into?
also do i want the inner or outer tie rod ends?

innner = rack end
outer = tie rod end
tube = the bit in between
tell the wreckers they ddont know how to do theyre job

i ended up getting a part that repco called the inner tie rod end which is 20-25mm longer than stock tie rod end so that may be enough to fit sigma lca's if not i may just get my stock tubes extended by 10 mm
