ok so i went to the muffler place to get my straight pipe. i wanted 1.75 but he only had 2 inch. me not thinking said ok. car has no torque bit pissed off. going back there tomorrow to swap the pipe for smaller and i was wondering. will 1.5 inch be alright? or will i still loose torque? will it be better than 2 inch? what sizes do people suggest for just a standard 4k
thanks

i used a 2inch exhaust on my stock 4k with extractors.
i found an increase in perfomance, well to me it did

i kept the front resonator and just freed up the rear section. Was loud enough and kept if not made a bit more power.
hope this helps

mine was 2 inch from extractors with 1 resinator.
1.5 would be to small IMO, very close to stock

On one of my ke's I had extractors to 1.75 straight through with a fucked muffler at the back and it was noticable increase over standard

Combination of both.
2" pipe with a muffler will give good results.
You need -some- backpressure.

Exhaust flow is not about back pressure, its all about temp and air speed.
The bigger the pipe the slower the air speed, thats why you see twin systems instead of a single 5" exhaust.
You have to work out what size pipe is best for your engine, i have no experience with 4K exhausts so I can't comment.

i ran striaght pipe on my 4k made from stock dia. pipe, theres no point going big. as said above, you need to get the airspeed within a decent range. also the thinner the exhasut the more torque (within reason), the larger the less torque it will make...
