WHALING SUCKS. love the japanese, speak the language half decent..

but GO SEA SHEPHERD, up the mighty STEVE IRWIN... (this sea shepherd boat is named after him)

I want this whaling crew out of our international whaling sanctuary, the bloody murderers. For those of you who didn't watch the star trek movies and have never heard of David Attenborough... These are warm blooded, intelligent mammals, protected by international law. These guys are huge, magestic, and watching them first hand will make you feel as tiny as you are. They are bloody amazing gigantic beautiful beasts. Witnessing parents and calves bonding is breathtaking and their intelligence will blow you away. I just watched the Australian Story doco on Ben Potts, who jumped onto the Japanese whaling ship. He is the most gentle, solid, sensible guy. He only got on there to give the captain a letter he had typed up telling them they are breaking the law. ( he was originally employed as a cook on the ship) His parent's teary eyes showed the pride all Aussies should have for him.

There isn't any type of food-based slaughterhouse in Australia which allows a mammal to spend up to an hour dying in agony, with a harpoon through their flesh, an explosive charge ripping chunks out of them, and often remote electrocution to finish them off. seriously this is bullshit. If it were possible to film a blow-by -blow doco of this shit, it'd make a long-bay inmate weep. We have to end this shit...

technically under international waters the japanese coulda slit ben pott's throat and left him there. =D Just goes to show that they are humane still.

You do know theres a steveIrwin yatch thats in melbourne (well it was here about 3 weeks ago not sure if it still is).

but i understand your point, they should stop eating whales. Better to stick to kobe beef.

I think its alot like the french doing nuclear testing the japanese are one of the worlds super powers and by them doing this they are saying we will do what we want when we want. Same as the french why did they need to do nuclear testing we all know what happens after a nuclear bomb is detonated complete and utter destruction there was no need for it but they did it any way and threatened any body or country that tried to stop them and the japanese are doing the same thing.
Doing it for research hey it must be pretty tasty research.

You don't murder animals you kill them. Killing animals doesnt make you a murderer.

I don't see what the big deal is, people hunt all sorts of animals for food. They are after all the cows of the sea, and who doesnt love beef :P

Kinda off topic but interesting, the international whaling commission permits the use of big game rifles to hunt whales.
