86 retardation problems with dash and i think starter

well me and the old man drove it too the RWC joint today took a glance at my steering wheel said he wouldn't pass it with that in there
so as i head back i notice the revs (on my digital dash display) is showing revs on 1000 blanks out on 2000 then comes back on 3000,
also when i let go of throttle just drops instantly, which is first problem

second problem is that when i was on my way home just going normally looking at the dash i got into the drive way and as i got in there
engine had died and tried starting again but doesnt even turn over now? would this be starter motor or what ? give me some suegestions
guys i needa try diagnose this crap and get this apex on the road already

give the starter a few hits with the hammer whilst tryin to start

jump the car if you can, and check if the alternator is charging. the battery could be farked or could even be something stupid like bad earth

oh and i think ur instrument cluster is farked
