frount bar?

Hey guys

I went for a road worthy on fri and the frount bumper has had a fare bit cut away to make way for air to get to the intercooler. now the guy said i will have to replace the metal bracket that goes across the frount between the two brackets? so i went down to a wrecker and had a look at a few ae82's and they do not have a bar. my questions

"is there a metal bar that bolts accros the frount of a ae86? or is it just the bumper that bolts to the brackets?"

any help would be great

I guess he would be referring to a rio bar (spelling?) which AE86's don't have, so was pretty stupid of him to suggest that you required it...
