Hey everyone, i'm currently in search of a good condition ADM sprinter and seeing as though it will most likely have a 4AC I was wondering what the cost of a 4age convertion would be. I don't really want to spend over about a grand on the conversion and am prepared to do the work myself (have an engine crane). Is there anyone who has done the convertion and could give me an estimate? Also can you still use the stock gearbox after the convertion and does the drive-shaft need to be modded or does the engine drop straight in?
thanks.

Gearbox will be fine, tailshaft will be fine, engine mounts and everything will be fine. So doing the 'engine conversion' itself is a piece of cake

All you need to do is drop in the engine and all its ancillaries, and wire up a fuel pump. Maybe spend an extra couple of hundred over your budget and put in an exedy/xtreme heavy duty clutch. Better doing it while its out :)
