hi guys.
i finally got some cash to spend on the car and i wana upgrade my suspension before i look at anything else.
what would be sugested to be the best setup at a limit of $500.
i was thinkin cut ford springs at the back end.
and s13 struts and xt130 corona control arms at the front.
i've heard some R32 stuff goes into the ke70 front aswell, anybody care to claify?
who out there could help me out with a better set up or some ideas when it comes to fitting all this stuff as i don't have much of an idea with the suspension side of things.
oh, i need to daily my car, so i don't want camber wear to the max so that ruled out the sigma control arms.
cheers!

$500...ok here goes
falcon springs cut down - $50 incl grinder
s/s rear shocks 100-160
strut brace - $100-200
corona arms - $150
lock spacer $65
caster rod bushes $35
good alignment $50
lock diff $50
cut + shut your panhard rod
some 14x6.5 at least 185/60 - $?
should be a fun car....there is heaps of other budget shit to do if you have a welder

what trueno sedan has said is pretty good deal
that will get it going nicely
just a note, anything to do with S13/skyline stuff will blow your 500$ budget right out of proportion, think my s13 front end cost me just on 1200$ when taking everything into account (admitidly i did get my coilovers rebuilt (600$ in total, inlcuding purchase of coilovers))
if you look around you should be able to pick up some cheap parts, panhard rod/strut brace etc.

yeah, what trueno sedan said should be good,
you can get some parts even cheaper than that if u look around in parts for sale aswell

falcon (EA-EF, i think) rears wil fit ke rears (ive got ea rears)
i think falcon fronts (EA-AU? once again not quite sure) will fit ke fronts aswell
if u get the fairlane ones they will be stiffer again,
well they better
i stole me some today ;)
lol
also xt130 control arms get em from the wreckers its cheap like 30 bux, or free if u do dodgey

No falcon fronts will fit, you need falcon rears all round on your KE/AE.

yep a pair of au rears cut in half twice and there u have 4 springs should cost you round 50-70 bucks then get some good rear shocks, what did you want the car for?

oh ok, so i can't use my falcon front springs in the front of my ke?
they look prety similar, just looking through the gap above the tyre,

+1 on getting Fairlane/LTD springs, are that bit stiffer, feel good, about 5kg or so in the front, work well with 4.5 kg rears!

for semi dry some just drain oil down to the low mark, also means if you bother to change it then you get 2 motors of oil out of the same bottle... it may cause oil starvation on hard cornering so expect short engine life.
thinner oil in theory should create less resistance but older motors tend to leak oil faster when its thinner and burn more if the rings are well worn.
as for power ups, a ghetto free flowing exhaust and a 32/36 weber really make a difference. this may strech your budget a little more (upto $150 for carb and adaptor, exhaust varies). dunno if id worry about the strut brace, that money could buy a better carb, same with cutting and shutting the panhard, seeing as its low budget.
removed air filter will provide some much wank factor induction noise. borrow a timing light and advance the ignition timing by a few degreese. take it for a run if you hear it pinging turn it back a few degreese, also use PULP so you can have it advanced a little more.
some new pads e.g. QMF super-x are like $35 for a front set and are far superior to others in the same price range.
another basically free mod is to space the bonnet up at the back to increase cooling, just grab some loose washers from a hardwear store max $5. also replace the driven clutch fan with a factory thermo fan from another car, like $25 increase responce slightly and adds .5hp
