hey guys, i just swaped my welded centre with my friend for his open centre, everything is done correct and i used castrol 80w-90 manual oil. For some reason it doesnt lock as good as it use to when it was in my car. can someone tell me explain why it doesnt lock as good?

If it's a welded centre, chances are the welding wasn't done very well and has broken. You'll need to remove it and get it re-welded or get a spool fitted which locks the diff. Or even better, save up for an LSD rear end.

locked centres are...well.....locked
there can't be any difference in its operation
either the welds have broken or its snapped an axle. thats the only way there wont be equal drive to both wheels

Hmm... yeah you could have possibly snapped an axle like slide86 said. But are you 100% sure you've got a welded diff there and not an LSD?

its 100% welded, cuz it came from my car.. i don't know if the axle has snapped or not, car drives well but doesnt have normal signs of a locker
also could the diff oil affect its operation? because i top up the oil where the plug is til it start to come out abit. could too much diff oil be the problem?

no
different suspension setups can have an effecf on how it 'feels'
however a locker is a locker, it will spin 2 wheels reguardless

Id say more than likely you've snapped an axle... fairly common with welded diffs and S series rear ends.
With the car IN GEAR AND HAND BRAKES OFF, jack one back corner of the car up, whilst the other wheel is on the ground and try to turn the wheel in the air, then try the other corner. If you could turn either wheel with your hands then you have snapped the axle connecting to that wheel.
