as above guys I'm after some info, we have spent all day trying to figure out why the ae86 steering arms don't quite bolt up to the ke70 ones...
if anyone has some info that I'm missing out on, it would be greatly appreciated as my car wont be moving until we have it sorted.
thanks.

yep. u need 86 knuckle arms.
or for a quick/cheap fix, you can use xt130 or te7x ones. theyre longer, so you wont wanna keep them, but theyll get you moving again.

its even better when you have the ae86 steering arms all ready to go, spend ages getting the stock ke70 ones off, then get it all back on to realise you put the ke70 arms back on cause you got them mixed up when they were laying on the ground, so have to do it all again :whistling:

well concidering xt130 and TE72 arms will work on ae86 struts, logic says that AE86 arms would work under xt130 struts, should give some good lock too.

You can also use Celica ones. But they maybe longer.
For people using XT130 struts and HiLux brakes: The AE86 arms fit in theory, but the spacing of the centre hole means the control arm hits the disk. In this case RA23 Celica steering arms, or XT130 are to be used. But they are not so short. I have solved this in two cases.
On my TE37, I have used a RA23 or XT130 steering arm, and just cut and welded it shorter. (Much care was taken, it works well).
On a KE25, I used the original KE25 steering arm (which has the wrong size holes) and filled up all the holes with weld and remachined them to suit.
I offer this custom service if anyone gets stuck.

fair enough, methinks i'll use xt130 arms and a quick rack, problem solved :2thumbs:
