I want bigger brakes, and cheap, length is no issue as they will be coilovers, BUT

Will i get massive increase in track?
Will i get massive positive camber?
Any other dramas?

Oh and new tie rods needed? etc etc
Thanks

you wil get a little bit of track increase
about 1.5' of +camber

solution;
sigma lower arms with ra40 or ke30/50 tie-rods.

oh and ra60 p/s arms or you'll have less lock than standard.

that is all.

You are better off using xt130 struts with ra40 hubs and brakes. At least then you won't get the shitty geometry

edit: sorry meant ra60

^^^ or just use the entire RA40 struts. Those brakes are nothing to write home about.

Follow Japlish's directions, or do the XT130 strut, MX62 caliper and RA60 hub and disc. It's written up in the FAQ. A bit more stuffing around, but you can use nice short AE86 steering arms.

Or alternatively you can do XT130 struts, Hilux 4pot calipers and Peugot rotor. Most likely overkill though.

i don't want to use ra40 brakes, they are 254mm solid, thats the original reason to going for ra60, 258mm vented

So option 1, ra60 strut, complete, with sigma control arms to combat the pos camber (cheapest option i think)
option 2 what hen ^ just said, but sounds dear getting mx62 calipers , and is it all direct bolt on? i don't mind labour

The other question is which struts are direct bolt in to stock ke70 steering arms? if any that is.

edit. Also what diameters are the corona , ra40, and ra60 struts? 51mm etc?

Good question, i have a AE71 and a pair on RA60 struts/brakes/rotors.
Is the sigma lower control arm overkill or an xt130 item better suited ?
what steering arm is the best suited RA40,RA60,AE86,AE86 PS,KE70/AE71,XT130 ??
Will roll centre adjusters also be required ?

RA60's are def 51mm, I have a pair. One thing though, if you intend to put RA60 hubs on ke70 struts, are the stub axles the same?

No, RA60 has bigger stub axle and bearings

i'm running rt142 corona struts/brakes in my 70 with sigma control arms and ra40's........maybe -1 degree of camber if that but good track increase. you have to use ke70 type (small diameter) springs with ke70 strut tops.

i had it explained to me better last night, and now i see. RA60 FTL

if this is the strut l
and this is the hub spindle _

the ke/86 ones are like this:
l
l_

the ra60 ones are like this:

\
. \_

so when you bring them upright they go like this:
l
l
\

and give max pos camber and they suck ass and i am not doing it any more. Now to find some ae86 struts cheap....
