Hey guys, my fuel tank has a bit of a leak. Seems to be coming from the drain plug.
I did a quick search and could find an answer on what i should use to fix it. Although i did read that i shouldn't use silicone.
I was thinking of using JB weld, but its heaps hard to find
Thanks for any help

If it's leaking from the drain plug, then drain it, wind some plumbers tape around the thread of the drain plug, then check if it leaks again.

It has a 1/2" square indent in it.
Use a 1/2" extension bar and ratchet to undo it.
Fuel will spew out. I suppose you knew that.

plumbers tape might get eaten away.
Maybe just check to see if its loose?

if it is the tank i would get another one. you would almost get one for nothing.
not worth the hassle of catching on fire while welding it. haha.

No way i would weld it.
Ill try just tightenging it, or teflon taping it, then tightening it.
If it still leaks, ill buy some JB Weld from the US and 'cold' weld it
People have used this stuff on engine blocks and it holds... Ment to be really good stuff

The simple and normal thing I would do, if it was in my workshop, is to undo the plug and drain the fuel. Replace the copper gasket, and do it back up.

Go to London Metals Exchange, watch the copper price rise and fall, then buy only a little bit of it.

I was going to sujest a copper gasket but my memory was very hazy and I didnt think it would fit because of the indented design, I didnt know if it had a lip anymore.
You can get a copper washer from a bearing shop, bring your plug in and show them, but watch out because you better be prepared to pay the $0.30 or so involved!
