Just so you can catch up, the general consensus of opinion is as follows:

It'll never be as light as they say it is, nor will it actually cost that little. Subaru engines are gay, why can't they further develop some BEAMS motor out of a Lexus?

Well, that's what I've picked up from reading threads on the matter in various car boards anyways.
