Today I was putting in my t-series diff and found that the front part of the ae71 tail shaft won't connect with the rear part of a t-18 tail shaft because the uni joint's are a different size so I wanted to know what I have to do to join the two together

its t18 rear and adm ae86 front for t50 to T series rear.

these 2 parts are joined by a flange and 4 bolts.

your 71 shaft is not really meant to come apart, except to maybe get serviced (eg new unis) theyre aus made too and so its not really a surprise they use different uni joints.

the unis on the t18/86 shaft are staked also, and are non service able.

damm wrong section
i think i will just cut and weld the right flange on it or somthing rather then finding a sprinter one

jsut had a thought

does the ae71 tailshaft have a bolt like this?

i tried to join a sprinter rear half to an ke70 front half, i got both sides apart, and the only thing stopping me was that the splines were different.

i assumed that the ae71 had the same spline as the T18/ae86 rear end....

but for that your gonna need the uni joint off the t18/ae86 rear end

What's the difference in length between the rear half of a t-18 tail shaft and an ae71 shaft if I know that I will know if the place that cut it measured it right
