Hi guys, I'm trying to remove the handbrake cable in my ae71 and I've run into a little snag. Just before the two cables join up, they go through these little plastic bead things which are slotted into a metal bracket. I can't get the little bead things out of the bracket, is there some trick to it? I want to re-use everything afterwards so I don't want to damage anything beyond repair taking out. I've tried pliers and levering with a screwdriver but no luck. Am I missing something?

They will snap out but are tight. When i removed them I grabbed the cable either side of the grommet and gave it a good yank in the direction of the slot and they pooped out.

I was then so happy that I gave it another yank, but this time on another type of cable..........

pull away from the bracket, turn 90 degrees and yank hard
