on the bottom of the throttle body there is a waxstat solenoid (with coolant lines coming out of it.) unbolt it and make a sandwhich plate and bolt it back together.

adjust the TPS too. and make sure the map sensor vacuum line is in tact

I have this problem too.
Interesting suggestions with removing the lines, but if you were to remove the in flow and out flow coolant hoses wouldn't you lose idle up control when cold etc ?
I have checked for leaks everywhere and cannot fix. have replaced the idle valve controller - didnt fix the problem either.

mine used to hunt between 2k and 3k then i removed the cold start and tps and now it idless at 2k
it would be nice to get it back down to the 1.1k mark but yeah just can't be bothered.

It's a leak. Check the butterfly closes fully, and change all intake gaskets.
If idling at 1500rpm +/- 100rpm its mostlikely tps needs adjusting. If I unplug the tps while idling at 800rpm, that is the most it would go to.
A large vac leak will cause the idle to rev up and down. I can induce this hunting idle by winding my idle screw out so it idles at 2000rpm (when it begins to bounce).

Vacuum leaks can be a bitch to find, what i usually do is spray some aero start, around the joints and see if the revs change, if it does, you know you've got one.

sounds like a plan... wtf is aero start tho ? hehe , carby cleaner ?
will give it a try if u reckon that mite isolate it

inspected all gaskets when removed manifold, checked butterflies -operating correctly.
tps position was checked by mechanic.
so leak is only thing left perhaps, but mechanic did not find one either. it would have to be big to go to 2000 - 3000 rpm etc

Aerostart is an engine starter, really flammable stuff you spray down your throttles to help an engine start easier. Can you "start ya bastard" engine starter as well.... think its cheaper. But basically you should hear your revs changing if you spray it near a leak, cos it will change the air/fuel ratio by acting as extra fuel.
