Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and the wonderful world of AE86's. I am a former Nissan boy but have recently been converted by mates. Anyway, I'm looking into buying a Sprinter soon and I'm just wodnering what spec. engine (Smallport or Bigport 4A-GE?) would best suit a hard N\A tune? E.g Cams, QTB's, Forged Internals and all that. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Sam.

according to bill sherwood the smallport head is best for around 200hp.
more than 200hp a bigport head is best he says.
whichever head u use, use a 7 rib block from the smallport/20v engines.

Thankyou Trueno Kim. I'm hoping to get a Redtop 16v and I will use a 7 rib block.

I got a bigport head, looks like I'm gonna have to go for 201hp. Sweet.
But if your desperate for a motor, I got a 20V head with quads for sale....

If you buying a sprinter soon, look at the chassis/body/rust more importantly.
Engine is easily replaced and cost are comparable. Go drive a BP and SP and see which engine you prefer. Both can be made to deliver hipo.
