hey guys.

i was thinkin of upgrading the suspension for my ke70 and was thinking of getting corona struts.

what problems exist with this.

as well...
if not, do the MA61 supra struts go straight into the ke70s? what mods would be needed.

any help with what can go into a ke70 front end would be great, my cars a daily so i will probably run softer springs in the back, not going down the path of EB or VL rear springs.

cheers

Hey mate, dunno if you have looked into it but Ae86 fits in. Obviously you don't get vented discs and all that, but the ability to get good shocks and springs comes quite handy.
If you do this though you will need the steering arms to go with it, and possibly tie rod ends (I'm not sure)
I had Ra60 stuff in my car when i got it, it was good stopping but that was about it... the upgrade to 86 stuff was a really good move, as the car had alot more responsive and wasnt as unco.

As for rear, as said basically anything ae86 will fit in.

I'm currently putting ae86 struts in my te72

you can get JDM disc brakes for the front which is a huge upgrade from the stockers plus you can get a wider range of stiff shock/spring combos with the ae86 struts.

ae86 struts only fit in when you fit different steering arms.

MA61 struts are useless because they have the wrong strut to axle angle

I just fitted 86 struts and brakes and also power steering arms to my ae71... by far one the single best bang for buck and simple mod's I've ever done to a car, a strut brace tightened everything up very nicely in the front, and for a daily it is near perfect.

just to clear this up, you wont need different tie rod ends.
i concur with everybody above.

just did the same mod but with both rear sprinter discs diff and ae86 jdm front brakes/struts.

definately worth while doing asap.

ke70 brakes suck.

Cheers yeah i wasnt sure about that as my car came with Sigma lcas which i do know you need different tie rods, but wasnt sure if this is also the case for the struts

Do 86 struts, they definately are the most simple and effective option

well cheers for the resounding response on the 86 struts haha

ive got a pair of corona steering arms with new bushes that need to be put in so thats that.

if anybody could define exactly what else is needed eg. tierod arms, steering arms, etc. that would be great.

cheers guys

the length of the lower control arms doesnt effect of the amount of steering lock

steering arms don't have bushes either.

oops I misread the post, I meant the length of the lower control arms doesnt affect the amount of lock, the steering arms obviously do.

ke70_sa: in my personal opinion I don't think its worth going for ae86 struts, I just think that if your going to go to the effort to upgrade you might as well get some struts come fitted with disks that arnt so tiny. But hey its all up to what you want to end up with.
