Putting my tailshaft back in after having a new centre bearing installed and the two tabs either side of the centre bearing arent lining up right with the holes in the chassis (not wide enough apart)

I bolt one side in a couple of threads then the other side doesn't quite reach.

Ive had the tailshaft in and out numerous times and remember having this problem but can't remember what ive done in the past to make it work!

Fuck!

lol i thought i was the only one. i'v tried a brand new bearing, jdm, adm and none have fit. the'v all done the same as what ur describing. went to a tailshaft specialist and asked if it was wise to cut it out a bit as i was worried about the torque of my ze ripping it apart but he said it'l be fine just use a big washer

are you able to take the plate with the two tabs off the centre bearing assembly?

i know on a VN style one, you can fit the mounting plate on the wrong way round. because the holes in the floor pan arent symetrical, the mounting plate only fits on one way around. but can be fitted to the bearing assembly either way.

of course, all this is no good if you can't remove it seperately.

ke70 is different to ae86. had same problem. i used a die grinder to widen the hole. if you re use the correct bolt it has a huge washer anyway.

Will try to widen the hole.

Don't think the tabs are removable.

its an 86 front half btw

is this the one that you had in the car before you had the centre bearing replaced?

if so, i don't see how it fitted before and now it doesnt?

but if its a different one then quite possibly you will need to make the holes longer
