How would i go about fitting the rear window glass into a fibreglass hatch?
do i need to buy a new rubber surround?

No. Search for the string method of installing. Been covered lots.

We did use some silicon spray to make it a bit easier so as not to break the fiberglass last time though.

After it is in, seal it with a caulking gun and the black window sealant you get from Repco, the stuff that doesn't set. Pump it in till it oozes out

except i did mine from the inside of the car... placed the window on and pulled the nylon/washing line from the inside since the the seal that goes on the inside is smaller

but it's easy as doing it with string... DON'T even bother TRYING to do it without string

Actually you are right, been a while since I have done one, but the last one was fiberglass.

I have edited the link to correct it.
