my cousin is doing it he's a boiler maker. he says his social being deteriorates everytime he goes back he hates it there but does it for the cashola etc. etc..

i know you're on the 'straight edge' so this doesn't concern you, but he said there are no chicks down there so they bang the cleaners lol thats whack as fuck i don't think any amount of money would make up for that

minejobsaustralia.com.au i think it is. theres heaps of shit on there. i was thinking about it but i'd wanna get my truck licence so i can just chill out and drive them all the time. but i doubt they'd let a 19yr old drive one of them cuz i'l prob try and rip skids and other sik shit in it ;)

^I was watching a documentary ages ago about this English guy taking up a truck driving job on the mines. Part of the training was to put the truck into a slide and be able to control it. Watching those things drift is freakin cool.

basically you sacrifice personal life for money. I'm a sparky and was thinking about it. but your only young once and I'm not going to spend 2-3 of my best years away from friends, family, chicks, 86 and general party, just to afford a house or something. sounds stupid i know, but not to me. maybe when I'm over all that i might go for a bit.

p.s- theres a reason why they pay so much.

I worked on Oil Rigs around Australia as a Geophysical Engineer for two years, It was a specialist job and I ended up working 3 months on/2 weeks off. You basically loose your social life but make some serious coin. Regular work in mines and rigs usually working a roster of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, or 3/3.

8 Months you won't save enough in mines, Work on rigs you'll get better pay but first few months will be shit house jobs. PM me if you want some names for rig companies based in Australia.
