i was wondering what you guys think pipes like THIS will look like on a stock bumper...I'm thinkig they MIGHT look a little strange since i don't have a kit.... does anyone have pipes like this with no kit who can show me?

any other ideas or suggestions for tailpipes?

cheers guys,

I'm getting something like that for my car soonish (cash flow issues :P)

But I think Hao's has a bent tip with a built in muffler near the end.

You want something like this right?

hey your resols friend yea??? I want to get the exact same, want some i dunno how big to get them though. I think I might get a cat and resi because I am over the straight pipe with a muffler on the back. What I am going to do it get a picture of the trust double d exhaust and get them to make one like that, it would be exactly what your looking for!!!!!

i have a single 2.5" pipe, it sounds sweet, wouldn't mind swapping for 2x of them out the back though. and with one noise is fairly high... you can hear the car coming from several streets away...

everyone knows its illegal having the exhuast extended past the bodywork from a birds-eye view right?

:P

Lol going by how half the cars are on this site, extended exhausts is the least of their illegal/defect problems! :teehee:

Being noob but is the difference when one leaves the muffler as 1 pipe and then splits, while trueno kim's leaves the muffler as 2 pipes?

yes

I'm planning to have a flange just after my diff, with "interchangable" tail pipe, either hetick upswept twins extending like 1 foot from the back, or some granny spec muffler which sounds like an electric fan with a pea-shooter tip aimed down. (note: the second tail pipe will not exist until i am defected)

If your exhaust goes under the diff, i reckon its a good thing to have a flange just before the diff anyway. Cos if you have to jack the car up by the body, the diff rests on the exhaust. Can't be to good for it. Mine does it pretty badly atm, but I'm looking at getting a flange put in.

It'll be sweet with twin pipes man! when will it b running anyway?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here is mine:

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/8/4/3/142159.jpg

Twin updraft pipes from the muffler, about 2.5 - 3" in size. Runs behind the standard ADM exhaust system with some repairs done. Sounds extremely good (if I say so myself), I reckon it makes my car. Looks fine with the standard bumper.

Hope that helps :2thumbs:

yeah driftspec pretty similar to that, but i was thinking more along the lines of no visible muffler. but still looks farrrking good.

ae71neo thats a good point about under diff system i didnt even think about that, and i certianly think now, i will be changing my idea :2thumbs:

btw. don't use BMX brake cables as throttle cables!, they are shit, and feel like ass, i just put two odyssey cables on my car, thinking it would feel good (why 2 you ask?, i have a twin cable linkage kit so i thoguht i may aswell use it) and yeah, now it just feels tight all the time, and doesnt have that snappy return i was looking for.

oh yeah and sprinter86 it should be running soon, I'm just waiting on postage from UK for my fuel pump, i thought it wouldn't take long, but its already been 10 days

Ive been toying with the idea for a while since my cars on the road will be getting it down in the next couple of weeks will get some picks up, just planning on putting a flange on the stock exhaust before the diff so it can be interchangeable

under diff flange is great for when you pull your diff out frequently.

my new exhause will be 3 inch and have twin pipes, the exhaust mani is on the passenger side, but will be slightly angled over to the drivers, and when its at about axle point change direction by about 80 degrees and come out the back close to parallel with the bumper pointing upwards.
