are they compatable?
I'm suspecting they might have a different resistance range and so on? does anyone know if they are compatable?

are you refering to the throttle position sensor??
if so you could check by using an ohm meter on the pins and moving the link open and shut. do it on both of them and see if the start and finish resistance values the same and at various points of open/close to see if they the same also

i have one from a ford escape on my beams 3sge.... nice and compact and seems to be doing its job
you will most probably need an aftermarket ecu to run a different throttle body as you need to change the tps switch, or you can mod the tps switch to fit the new throttle body
