Hi,

I'm pretty new to modifying my Toyota. I recently purchased a pretty mint AE71 with a first gen 4age.

I want to go LSD of some sort and from all the reading I've been doing the T18 rear end is a straight bolt up.

What cars did these come in? Where can I get one? How much? and is it a straight bolt up to my rear end?

Sorry for the stupid questions. I tried searching but everything is below 4 characters and it wouldn't let me :(

a T18 is the name of one toyota's models. You can search small things but putting words together, for example try this "T18 diff" with the talking marks put in.

it bolts straight in but you will need the rear half of the tailshaft to be fitted out of the t18

Any chance of me finding one of these sitting in a wreckers or am I best of going somewhere like AJPS?

i found some at wreckers but never in a t18. try alternate cars. most common being ra40 and ra60 celica. despite what some people say these are direct bolt in as i run one in my ke70. they can be had with tail shaft usually for around $200 or i think i got one through ajps for around 400 a while ago

i have one here, even wreckers here charge $300+ for them now, and if one goes to the pick a part the HUB crew usually have it ripped out in 30 secs flat

but yeah i have one in stock, pm me if you can't find one, :)m - can even supply a locked 4.1 centre

the ra40/60 celica's have slightly wider track. the mounts are also slightly further apart correct johl? which just means that your 20odd year old bushs will be stretched a little more. I'm not sure if this would effect rear geometry at all.

i didnt measure it but everything else fit in perfect. the trailing arm mounts are apparently smaller but its so minimal i didnt even notice till someone actually measured it and the traling arms fit in fine anyway

I'm fron Western Sydney.

So am I reading that right that the ra40/60 celica rear ends is the same thing? ie what I'm after?
