it depends how you mounted the engine. but usually around a couple of inches back from where the t-50 comes thru

ive heard people using the CA bellhousing with the RB Box, is this do able, does the SR bellhousing bolt up to the CA box, i assume it wouldn't

on a pair of kaizen mounts it came up just behind the shifter hole on an RA60. SR20 plus SR/RB box was further back with custom mounts.

does it really matter? Theres a reason they make 4in grinders

cool! ... not much detail lol.

i have both gearboxes. i hope the rb20det gearbox is correct otherwise i'll kill someone.
the sr20det gearbox is correct. so on the weekend i will attempt it.

also found that the sr tailshaft yoke goes into the rb20 box. haven't counted the splines as yet.

found some info and pics on what it may look like too

will try and eplain this the best i can.....

ca18 bellhousing bolts to rb20 box.

ca18/sr20 are pretty much the same box.

rb20 box sits the shifter around 40mm further forward than ca18det box.

with rb20 box you still have to cut out hole a bit.

all nissan/datsun splines are the same.

if you reverse shifter with rb20 gearbox it almosts fits perfect through the standard t50 shifter hole.

converting from ca18 to rb20 requires the tailshaft to be longer.

any more questions fire away.

when we carried out this conversion we had it the other way around. the rb20 box on ca/sr bellhousing sat around 1.5" further back than a full ca box
