Anyone have any info on the rear 'Big Rotor Kit' for ae86 as fitted to this car
http://www.7tune.com/mini-feature-powerspo...ate-ae86-levin/ (http://www.7tune.com/mini-feature-powersports-powergate-ae86-levin/)

I want to get a set for my car. Does anyone know what company makes them? Any seller on this site have access to them?

Yeah I'm already running a standard Jap disc rear end. Just need more braking in the rear to match bigger front brake.

G'day Tom,

Just using bigger discs with the standard rear callipers won't help your brake problem.
I guess you still have the over sensitive front brakes??
You'd need to increase the area (volume) of the calliper pistons and hope it compensates enough for your master cylinder size.

I still reckon you're better off sorting out the master cylinder and keeping everything else the same.
Your current MC is 1"?? was it 7/8th we worked out you needed or 15/16th?

How's the gearbox?? :)

Has the pedal travel increased?

Mine's going slowly, got the engine 'though at the builder so we'll start that shortly.

Got to catch up mate!

sutpid question...but does that kit retain the drum brake inside the disc? like the s13s have?

I'm gonna go with no, but daym it would be cool if it did.

i havent got it yet, i will be getting it soon, so i can't comment on its performance

it runs the normal handbrake NOT a drum style :(

Damo: slide has used the kit, he is saying he would be able to provide you with a brand new kit

Ke70Dave: no, that kit wont retain the internal drum handbrake from the s13....didnt think they had one.....because you are retaining the standard JDM calipers....

however i am nearly finished on the rear disc upgrade i have been working on for awhile now....will give you internal drum handbrake and around a 290mm rotor, the kit will also be engineered....

Edit:
....TOO SLOW...

s13 never had a rear drum handbrake. only the skylines, 300zx's and such with the 2 pot rear brake calipers did. s13 handbrakes were cable and the rear caliper was single pot.

Tom86 try talking to ben at kyp in perth to see what he can get you. i managed to get a kit off him some time ago. its a larger rear rotor but still uses the same 86 rear caliper. came with slotted rotors, adapater plates and detailed instructions.

none of the s13, 14, 15 had drum handbrake....other than possibly the lowest of lowest trim J's model...

alot of s13's which have had r32/gtr rear ends converted into them have been converted to drum handbrake...

but definately not standard.....

s12 gazelles maybe but never s13's onwards standard from factory. even the J spec 240sx's in the US i saw had rear disc single pot calipers.

wheres my info from?
1 i've been in and out of the import scene here in perth for almost 10 years
2 owned 2 s13's and modified them myself brakes, suspension etc.
3 worked for nissan dealerships as a mech for the last 5 years

sorry didnt mean to start an argument....

after asking around it is apparent that the car i was working on had some sort of skyline brake upgrade, so that would explain it.

still can't work out why its in this manual i have though, its for a "nissan 200sx", which i thought was s14, but the picture on the front of it is a s13 180sx.

ah well must be a mistake.

sorry again..

nah its cool i don't know jack shit about toyotas so we can be even.

if it says 200sx for those models then its most likely a european or singaporean manual as those were the places those cars were badged as 200sx's
