Hey guys and girls.

Stupid question.

Bought an E series diff off a guy on this forum long time ago. Its been in my car for about one and 1/2 years now.

I got around to installing my rear interior today and thought, hmmmm..... how do i know its really an e series diff??

So quick question,

how can you tell what kind of diff it is?

Easy way to check ratio?

I've had it on the dyno and on the dyno sheet its got ratio 4.1. So i assume thats the correct ratio.
And clearly its had T series mounts and brakes put on it.

Anyways, any help would be good.

Stupid answer:
Pull everything apart and measure the diameter of the crown wheel in inches.

For ratio, count the teath.

What should the measurement be?

T series diff is 6.7". If the measurement is bigger, you have something else.

Ok, thanks.

If anyone else has some info that would be great.

ratio can be worked out by dividing the number of crownwheel teeth to the number of pinion teeth.

Got a pic? Some one will be able to tell you what it is.
