ok folks, i have a probem.
part of me wants to sell my KE and get an 86.
But to be honest, I am not 100% sure why! :D
I think, i like the idea of a more track/stripped, caged up car and to me, I wouldn't want to do that to my KE, I like it with the std seats and stuff, it just looks 'right'.
I also think I like the ideaof a car that isnt so perfect etc, as with my KE, everything was so neat and clean but I hate it getting dirty, how gay is that!!
so, if i go an ae86 I could get over all the above but it wont make/save me any cash, and i am scared it will be a huge mistake too but part of me says o it??
thoughts....
this is my KE...

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/1/3/5/45937.jpg
and this is what I am thinking of getting in its place..
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...rksid=p3907.m29 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=320274755092&Category=18290&_trksid=p3907.m29)
obv, i will get the ae first, swap over all the best bit of both onto the car I keep and then sell the KE on.

I like your KE way better than that '86, better than most in fact. But I know what you mean about having a nice clean car that's too 'precious' to thrash. I think cars are at their most fun being driven hard, which is why, if I were you, I'd buy something a bit scruffy, drop the goodies from the KE in, and have some fun without worrying overly about appearances.

Thats a nice coupe but you should hold onto your keto. I think the reason why you want to sell it is because you don't have hishinos like the 86 next to your car in the photo.
Keep your car. It's well nice, or if you can afford, have both.

and if you can't afford both a 86 and your ke, just get another ke to thrash.

funny situation. most people don't wanna hurt an 86 so they buy a ke thrasher.
although ur ke is the hottest one i'v seen i would buy a coupe and combine both cars to make one awesome 86. and sell the ke as a complete running car with the bits left over.
basically no matter what you do to a ke no one will pay more than maybe 6k realistically. but as soon as u re shell ur bits into an 86 you will get alot more interest if it ever comes time to sell. thats my way of thinking and when i crash my ke or whatever thats what i will be doing.

Ive owned a very clean example of both, but i for some reason prefered to take my ke out purely because i think it had moe character, to be honest, id keep both then have the best of both worlds

cheers folks.
As you know, I live in the UK and a KE70 is a very rare car to see for sale that isnt a rusty POS.
Also, AE86 fetch alot of money to but are easier to get due to jap imports and there is more of a following as you can guess as there just a more popular car.
I don't know what to do! :(

Do not sell your KE. that would be crazy.
You have 4 -doors, carry more people comfortably. and boot space.
Yes i love 86's. but if i had a ride like that, i wouldn't bother getting a 86.

Lol... and thats different to us because.... ?
yeah don't sell it man.. i always wanted a hachi, way before i got my ke. I bought one... but i quickely came to realise that (like the ke70) theyre no way near as fun unless they got all good parts in them.
Both cars are phat when done right, but the ke's are a rarity to see someone properely spend theyre hard earned and build up with the amount of enthusiasm and detail that youve done.
Also, there is absolutely no reason why a track car cannot be neat and clean. Spend the extra and get that cage put in properely, and if you really want to, paint it. Also unless you truck a heap of people around all the time, it shouldnt be too hard to fit a cage with rear seats... they might not be usable though lol
OR
Have both

Listen to aaron and brendan, they obviously know what they're talking about. I've been there too, both times with different cars, still own both and I'm glad i do.
Do not sell your car, you will regret it.
But don't baby it either, let it get dirty, dirt washes off, it is a car after all.

the only thing id add is your ke is a bit of a "keeper"
i see people with my old cars also and sometimes what theyve done with them "annoys" me.
and i should add none of my old cars are quite as good as your ke.. i would say keep it, keep the drifting to that track where youre unlikely to really bend it, and keep a look out for a really cheap ke or 86... build it up rough as..

Thanks for all your imput guys.
After a few sleepless nights (why do car make that happen to you! :D) ive decided to just keep the KE.
I can't afford another AE86 as here in the UK there is no such thing as a cheap AE86! hahaha :)
I think, I will stick with this,
and if I want a full on drift car just set a Silvia or something in the future as a banger as there much easier on parts etc
cheers

It's funny to see people considering to buy a AE86. Because I was told (a number of years ago), that there are no AE86's left, and all of them have been crashed or bought. And by 2006 there would be non left for sure. I thought I had found the last one.
