Well i want to remove my arial,
i have removed the one bolt that can be accessed from inside the wheel arch, this makes it move around but still can't get it out at the top
is there somewhere else it holds together or something,
cheers guys

at the base of the Ariel, on the outside, the base has a screwed on bit

its chome and part of the fitting, but it screws off.

then you just feed the Ariel back through the guard.

thats a good question, my antenna is still complete and tucked up in the guard

ive been putting up with crackly radio ever since i pulled mine out for the respray

i wanna try and get one of those stick on antennas, like the nissans have down the centre of their windscreen

anyone know where you can get something like that?

Nothing. Weld it over for a clean look. Then try what KE70 dave said, a windscreen stick on aerial.

Aftermarket / new to suit Hilux is what I used in my old 71. Fits with near to no modification, I think i had to slip a small cutout of vynil / fabric in the holder bit where it unbolts on the inside of the guard because diameter was slightly smaller. Can't remember which year hilux, just went to Burson Auto Parts and picked whatever looked closest.

Biggest pain in the arse i found was getting the rest of the wire through the firewall when removing the old one.

could go to clark rubber and get an assortment pack of bungs

mine will be welded over before final paint.
