Hey there,
I have found a car I really like, but it's in queensland, and I'm in perth.
Just wondering if any of you have had experience with buying a car from another state, and getting it's registration changed particularly into WA.
Also any transport companies you have used, and trust etc.
Cheers guys

shipping a car from QLD to WA is gonna cost you a boot load, i was looking to get one shipped from SA to SYD and the quote was like $500.. i ended up flying down and driving it home. was a good trip. but i know syd - perth is a 5 day treck driving 10 + hrs each day so yeah.

I'd be looking into having it shipped by rail, might be a good idea.]
What i would do is - Get ALOT of pictures from the seller.
Get a relative / friend to pick it up and drive it to wherever it's getting shipped from if you don't trust the seller.
YOU arrange transport.
And enjoy.

a mate got a s13 from bris to melbourne via rail, can't remember who the company was.
$600
one of my cars came from adelaide, used patrics, they picked the car up in adel, then dropped it off to my door.
$370
they did a great job, the car wasnt really running right (would of been a pain to get it onto the car carrier) and nothing went missing from inside of car (was full of spares and other goodies

I got a car sent from Sydney to WA, it cost me $1200, it goes by truck, then by rail across the Nullabor, then back on truck from SA to Perth.
That was with CEVA Logistics, i think there a part of TNT.
Let me know if you want the contact details, but they should be in the book.
If its an expnsive car you can it get covered up or put into a container, but thats super expensive.
But normal transport is fine, just get the guy to drop it off at the depot, and they take care of the rest.
You can either pick it from the depot or they can drop it of to your house.
Hope that helps :2thumbs:

I've just had an AE70 coupe sent to Melbourne from Perth, depot to depot and it cost me $600. The name of the company I used is Autotrans, also got a quote from "moving cars" but it was slightly more expensive, around $20 more. Being in WA and wanting a car from QLD i wouldn't expect much change out of $1200. Then there's cost of re-registering it in WA so budget for around $2K on top of purchase price unfortunately.

Perth to adelaide is the shit, paid $280 2 years ago, contained freight.
TNT car was clean when I picked it up, as delivered by the car yard in perth.
