Hey Rolla community
just curious to see if anyone has actually used ford springs with xt130 struts and ke70 hats, in a ke70 obviously
I'm asking this because I've been doing the searching and there is a fair bit of yes no yes no blah blah
so what I really what to know is if anyone on here has experience with actually running this setup and if that had any problems at all?
cheers in advance guys

also just for more detail that is with xt130 lca's, ae86 ps arms, and lock spacer. Not that those details should have a bearing on the seat but just in case :D lol

If anyone was interested I pm'd a member who i saw commented about doing this in an old thread and got a good reply :D but any way I think i'll just try it and see how it goes if it's no good I'll just get custom ones made

hey champ
i saw in a thread you said you don't need to change spring seats on xt130 struts so i presume your using them what springs are you running with these?
reply
You can still run the xt130 seat with 86, falcon etc springs they just don't sit pefectly. but they wont fall out. The the seat doesn't foul on the guards. Run the xt130 lca also. If you want you can run 86 ps arms on them too. I don't have them in my car but was going to so i could put the hilux brakes on them.

also commo rear springs fit (acceptably). who honestly runs captive springs anyway...?
don't bother running xt140 LCA's if you looking for camber. because of the kingpin angle on the xt130 struts you will end up with just over -1 camber. not worth the hassel.
FYI ae86,xt130, ra40, are all comfirmed to be the same. ra60, rt141, st131 are also the same i believe (uncomfirmed)

i ran coil overs in the skyline and they are awesome but this is a budget drifter that I have no massive intentions on spending huge dollars on just a bit of bang for buck :D

My mate is running xt130 struts with matching LCAs and has -1.4 camber. I reakon thats perfect for the street.
Also for he springs, he is running chopped ford springs with the std xt130 cradle.

Who told you that 86 lca are the same as xt130 and ra40? Because they are wrong. If you were right why would xt130/ra40 lca give extra camber?
Use the xt130 lca the extra track helps and the camber is good for street and some track. if you want more get some sigma lca then you'll get somthing like -7. too much i reckon. Everone to their own tho

Fucking kids these days.
AE86 LCA is equal in length to -
KE70
AE71
ST141
RT142
+ various others
+10mm LCA's ('Corona' LCA's)
XT130
RT132
+ many, many others i will keep to myself.
RT141's and ST131's don't exist sweetheart.

ae86 LCA are +10 over stock AE/KE ones. hence same length as xt130, ra40.

Rollabender

They are not 'exactly' the same, but they are the same length, use the same balljoint and inner bush, so they will do the exact same job in the exact sae fashion.

so would xt130/ra40 arms work in an rt142 to gain some camber?

When puting Xt130 Struts in a ke70, what spring hat and strut top do you use? I tried puting on the ke70 strut top with the xt130 spring hat but it kept fouling. The ke70 spring hat doesnt look wide enough for falcon springs either???
Thanks,
Alex
