this is the second time this has happened to me
i have a nut that holds top of the shock in since i run cusco camber tops right
and the nut ends up being so tight the shock spins along with the nut
i dont have an air compressor or rattle gun/impact wrench
any easy ways to get out of this

On the strut hat theres 2 or 3 holes from memory. What ive done is put a screwdriver through one of the holes and lean the screw driver on to the ground so that when you try and turn the top nut, instead of the strut spinning freely the screwdriver will stop the strut from spinning because the screwdriver is hitting the ground.

Thats what i did when i could get mine off.

Hope that makes sense.

maybe u got wrong impression ? not sure if i get your theory but its the shock inside the strut spinning so not the struts problem but the shock insert inside, and the shaft inside it is spinning along with the nut and i cant get a grip of the shaft with these grips i got here

Tried some vice grips or multi grips with a bit of rubber in the jaws to protect the shaft?

As above.

Though, if you do that, I'd suggest using the vice grips near the top of the insert, so if in a worse case scenario you do score the shaft, it will be somewhere not in the shock travel of the insert.

Try reinstalling the struts into the car with wheels back on, while it's on the ground, try and undo the nut again. If it still spins the shock, get a hammer and tap/hit the spanner (anticlockwise) making it act like a rattle gun would. This should 'jolt' the nut and make it loose enough to undo without a rattle.

Hope that makes sense to you.
