i know theres a few 3sge threads kickin around at the moment but these all relate to the fwd versions.
i hav a ke70 i want 2 convert 2 a 3s so i need 2 know a few things about the gen 5 beams 3s (the 1s 4sale in kaizen garage) these are all out of the rwd altezza so my questions r

1. am i going 2 hav 2 customize the sump still? it will b mounted on the 4k xmember (new mounts obviously)

2. and wot front half of the tailshaft fits in the j160 6 sp box that comes with engine package

3. do i hav 2 customize the exzorst manifold at all?

4. wot do i do about the steering rack and column does this need 2 b customized

5. wot about the radiator? wot do i do here?

6. wots the wireing goin 2 b like?

7. fuel set up much different to anything else?

8. is an ae71/t18 pedal box fine?

thats all for now just lookin 4 some brief answers 2 see if i want 2 tackle this

the real question is. if you can not even make an attempt to write a question in the manner in which someone is likely going to want to answer it... do you really think youre capable of doing an engine conversion?

1. no. the sump in a beams is front sump, though it is offset even further forward. the car the engine is out of, is usually a front sump 6 cylinder. what this means is, depending on how far back you mount the engine, the sump may hit the sway bar.

basically, you have to wait till you install the engine, and which compromises you will make re engine position. you will need to either space the x member, get a new custom sway bar made, or enlarge the tunnel.

2. output is the same a w

3. factory headers and secondaries will be fine, if supplied.

4. the ex' is on the passenger side. there are no issues with steering.

5. get one big enough to cool it. camry/celica/whatever

6. you will need someone to wire it. at this stage i am only aware of 2 ecu's that can run the engine. adaptronic and motec.

7. no, just a normal set up will be fine. standard the altezza has the FPR in the tank like a lot of modern engines, so you will have to add one at the rail. no biggie.

8. yes.

expect the conversion to cost at least the price of the engine/GB package.

the main issue you havent mentioned is clutch and brake master cylinder clearance. youll need to mod both and/or the intake manifold.

Join Altezzaclub and ask on there. Some members have them in other cars & celicaRA45 races his in a Celica (obviosly!)

no, only issue with sump is swaybar clearance, i have 30mm clearance and my engine is 40mm back than normal
2. and what front half of the tailshaft fits in the j160 6 sp box that comes with engine package
you will need a custom 1 piece shaft made or 2 piece if you feel the need as your sump will hit swaybar using a t series to w series tailshaft as it will be too far forward and sump will hit swaybar
3. do i hav 2 customize the exzorst manifold at all?
the exhaust manifold is a 4 into 2 into flange then u have the 2 secondary pipes, the secondaries have been modded on mine as the altezzas secondaries have a small catalytic converter in each so i would recommend u replace them with straight pipes as there isnt too much room down there
4. what do i do about the steering rack and column does this need 2 b customized
no, u may need to grind a small portion off the drivers side bracket that goes over the rack
5. what about the radiator? wot do i do here?
anything thats big enough and fits, i use an ae92 smallport radiator, but the temp starts to creep up when doing skids so id recommend something bigger

as dimitri said, adaptronic or motec, you will need to get a full engine loom wired up
7. fuel set up much different to anything else?
not at all, id recommend an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a surge tank setup
8. is an ae71/t18 pedal box fine?
yes, as its just a simple hydraulic setup
