Wondering what everyone else wears when going for serious drift/circuit/touge runs?

Friend of mine is looking at buying a pair of sparco's http://www.sparco1.com/shoes.html
They look great but i dont know if i can justify spending over $200.

Im normally a barefoot driver but that just isn't cutting it this winter up on the mountain. Im looking for a cheapish pair of shoes nice tight fit and MINIMAL sole thickness.

Suggestions?

shoes never bothered me when driving, have worn volleys, dc's, work boots, socks. i would never spend $200 on a wank pair of shoes

cons!

I would only buy some racing shoes if i was racing in a series or soemthing. That are pretty useless if you had to go into the shops or something and a bitch to put on and off.

What about some rock climbing shoes. they're tight fitting and have a thin sole... no idea on prices tho.

Ahh just got sucked into buying a pair of sparco's the dollar is just too good atm! Im confident it will be money well spent. Vans cons ect just don't do it for me it feels akward and my knees clash with the steering wheel. Im also sick of hiding my bare feet at the track.

Shoes came in at around $200 heres the link if anyone else is interested. Good prices and they ship overseas

Apparently they are named after the Porsche 917...

I just drive in whatever like others have said work boots, skate shoes, volleys don't really care/don't need anything special to drive.

i always feel weird if i drive with a different pair of shoes, i know tsuchiya has his own type of shoe from what i remember looked similar to puma driftcats ?
anyway i just use $7 canvas shoes from kmart or vans depending if im a class kid or just going to the gym

I'd like to try some proper racing shoes but normal runners feel fine. Skate style shoes and retro basketball/high top ish isn't so great.

Cons or the half worn out old black volleys I wore to school preferably, but I can drive in anything. Hate barefoot though, my carpet's always got catheads or bindies or something sharp in it from the grass patch next to the driveway lol

i would never spend $200 on a wank pair of shoes

You might find they have this neat feature called "flame retardant"

Not really "wank" when your car is on fire. Happens a lot more thna you would think in motorsport. Especially with drift special "shit tins" that are barely roadworthy but don't even bother getting scrutineered before the event.

And your $5 pair of "canvas" shoes from Kmart just became a permanent fixture on your foot and they'll have to cut that shit off your skin with a scalpel in emergency and then shave big chunks of SKIN GRAFT off your arse and thighs to make your feet look like you're not some fucking mutant with melty skin when you are in recovery.

Me, I would pay the $200...

Just sayin ;)
