why pay $500 when you can buy a new 4ac for $50 and then a 7afe for $200
boom 7ac 1.8l power

Buy another daily, keep the 86 on car stands until you can afford a 4age.. If you can't find a replacement 4ac, then no point going backwards with the car.. 4age bigport, for sure get one for $400

3au is a more powerful engine than a 4ac anyhow.

Entire 4A-GE`s arent easy to get for cheap nowadays, and it gets worse if you dont want to do a lot of wiring because carb solution is easily twice the cost of the engine for little to almost no gain in effect, plus worse mileage..
500 for a 3A/4A hybrid sounds a bit too expensive when you can find 4A-C`s at scrapyards from a FWD Corolla, but if you already insist on SOHC and you want something better than the 4A-C but dont want to shelf out immediate large chunk of money.. Find a 3T-C :)
You can upgrade the 3T-C with 2T-G head (Can be had for about 200-300 USD) and find a pair of cheap Mikuni Toyota 40mm sidedrafts like the s5 or T type, for Swedish TTE races they built engines like that and often specced them up with stuff like crossdrilled crank, aftermarket pistons and rods all of which were fully balanced of course, and added a fully worked 2T-G head, ended up with brutal 180-200hp..

i forgot to mention that the 3a-4ac frankenstein engine was fully rebuilt and done 50kms all up, hence the price.
cheers for the help, i actually just found a good 4age for sale in sa for a grand that im highly considering now.
so now i need to learn about wiring up a 4age :/ hahah

Can`t go wrong with a good 4A-GE but do take good care of it as they dont grow on trees anymore! :(

Wiring for teh win!
