You will need to decided on a Flywheel to use

AE86/AE82 4AGE 16v flywheel - 200mm surface

AE92/AE101 20v silver - 212mm surface

AE111 20v Black - 212 surface, factory flywheel but a little lighter

Starter motor use an AE82/AE86/AE92 starter motor. Some are reduction drive, same are not.

Clutch - Go to a local brake/clutch place and ask for the following, depending on flywheel size.

200mm flywheel - Clutch Disc: TYD008U. Cover Assembly: TYC553. Ask for the heavy duty variant.

212mm flywheel - Clutch Disc: TYD035U Cover Assembly: TYC549. Ask for the heavy duty variant.

You should be able to get this for around $100-150 depending on brand you go for.

You will also need a throw out/clutch fork bearing. It's best to replace these with every new clutch. They usually wear quite quickly. BRG2155 is the part number for this.

Spigot bearing - Part No: 6001 - The 20v shouldn't have this in the back of the crank shaft, if it hasn't been used as a RWD motor before. Install this before installing the flywheel. It helps keep your gearbox output shaft centered.

I'm sure others will fill in some smaller info I have left out but this is a majority of what you will need.

Matt = correct.

Make sure you get a flywheel with 8 bolt holes. New flywheel bolts are a good investment too.

Probably no need for the part numbers though. The shop should be able to check the numbers for whatever brand they sell. Basically for a 200mm flywheel askm for an AE86 or AE82 clutch. For the 212mm flywheel ask for a AE92 clutch.

Maybe ask for some punctuation while you're there too. It makes things much easier to read.

Ive found you can get things cheaper usually in this department when you go "I want a heavy duty of this variety in this part number" ie; why a clutch kit costs me $100 dollars instead of $350-400 and made by the same company.

yeah thanks boys for the help i'm a mechanic by trade so i get them pretty cheap.. being looking into chrome moly lighten fly wheels due to the fact i'll be running some pro cams in it. i found only 200mm and 215 mm are they both the same fly wheel i.e is the ring gear diameter the same? or is it just the clutch plate surface width on the fly wheel wider? i'm under the impression both fly wheels bolt up (their eight bolt) and still can use the ae86/82/92 starter motor and only the surface of the wheel and clutch is different... correct me if i'm wrong

cheers

hey just to let you know im goin to be running the trd exedy lighten flywheel p/n tf01 it is a 5kg flywheel, you dont wanna go too light otherwise you lose too much torque

make sure you get ARP flywheel bolts as well

also getting a ske clutch kit which includes 800kg pressure plate, 212mm 3 puk clutch with interchangeable clutch discs ie go from 3-4-5 puk and still keep the hub

Good thing I read this and spigot bearing was mentioned, I didn't even think of this with my 20v conversion, which is almost done, better get one, please tell me that you don't have to remove the rear main seal/housing to install it... ?

Guys

You might want to check that ARP part number.

The catalogue here: http://www.arp-bolts.com/catalog/Catalog.html
shows it as 203-2802 on page 62.

Cheers,

Peter
