Hey guys, I'm just learning about the running of my engine. Previous owner has had great success with ae86's you may have seen his race car it's been posted a couple of times on here (white ae86 with an n2 lip molded into the bumper)

My engine specs are.

Bigport 4age with TVIS removed.
Motec m4 Clubman ecu

so what I would like to know is what is this? it's a vacuum sensor of some sort but it the hose is just hanging, when vacuum is applied the engine stalls.

I'm just trying to track down what sensors I have and what I can do with them.

Thats a MAP sensor, its an aftermarket one........looks like a VN commo style one.

If its a map sensor why wouldn't it be used? I have a tps on my throttle and thats about all I can find

atmospheric pressure adjustment mine runs tps and a map witch adjusts a small amount of my tune according to where i am at a specific altitude its better to run it as your tune would be relying on the tps then map as a backup or a reference if that makes sense

yep makes loads of sense :) that clears that up.

I also have quite a high idles at 1500, however there is another vacuum point on the front of my throttle body just sucking air, if I block it off the idle drops to 1k, however in the 4age manual thats been floating around the interwebs it says that point is used to diagnose a bad throttle. Am I at least on the right track?

Just block it off.

Blocked it off and it runs beautifully thanks Marvis.
seems to be giving the ecu a heaps better signal, before it smelled rich
