Hey guys, I have read every that people run the 4k dizzy modded on the 4ages for vacuum advance on carbys..

I have looked through google results and search results on a few forums and cant find an actual write up on how to modify the 4k dizzy to work..

Would anyone have any info?

Also thoughts on a bosch ignition module to run static timing and possibly a wiring diagram for one too..? :D

Cheers guys, can't find a dizzy article anywhere..

Some discussion and pictures here (http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tech-conversions/26718-carbie-4age-what-ignition-dizzy-works-4ac-sigma-bluebird-iii-4cyl-magna.html)(scroll down)

From the bit of playing I did years ago I thought the best solution was a 4K dizzy with 4AGE drive gear fitted. Then an adaptor plate to fit the dizzy body to the hole in the 4AGE head. I have drawings of an adaptor (that I never got round to making, so not 100% sure it works) that I can send if you're keen.

I wouldn't run locked ignition. It'll work, but (in my opinion) good ignition advance is key to getting good power out of an engine. Sure, fully programmable is better than a 4K dizzy with simple vacuum and mechanical advance, but that's still better than locked.

None of those "4k" dizzys look like the 4k dizzy I have..? the vacuum chamber is only a single chamber.. it doesnt have like a double chamber sort of thing on it..

So I just have to get an adapter plate machined up to fit the 4k dizzy and put the 4age drive on the opposite way?

Yeah could you email those pics of the adapter too thanks.

There are three options with dissy ,bosch, nippon denso, and a electronic one which came in a van of some sort with 5k in it.There was a bloke on rollaclub selling the electronic ones new for 135 not that long ago.
The electronic one would be the go ,you wouldnt run points type that would be a step backwards in my appinion.

Doesnt see what's so bad about a points dizzy? it will get my car running til i can get my hyperpak back from wayne, it will have vacuum advance, points wear out, wow.. you can replace them..
